Oh the Hokey Pokey!

Gardening – What’s it all about?

You put your right hand in,
You put your right hand out,
You put your right hand in,
And you shake it all about,

You do the hokey pokey
and you turn yourself around
That what it’s all about.

This was  a great song and dance we used to do in the Scouts.  There’s nothing more useful than singing the instructions as you do the actions.  Very re-affirming!

Gardening is awash with advice, words like ‘Eco’, ‘Organic’, Cottage Style’, ‘Meadows’, ‘Sustainable’, ‘Perfect’, and ‘Easy to maintain’

We will guide you through this gardening maze, with a friendly enthusiasm.

Easy to maintain

Often gardening tempts you with words such as ‘Easy to Maintain’, fill your space with easy to maintain gravel or all you need is a lawn (with stripes).

But we have found that ‘Easy to Maintain’ is a tad mis-leading!

When people say ‘Easy’ what they actually mean varies, and equally when our ‘clients’ say ‘Easy’ what do they mean?

We all want our lives to be easier, uncomplicated and less stressful.  We are often short of time, and have a hundred and one important things vying for our attention.

So we want a garden, must look good, nothing too complicated or time-consuming, don’t want to read manuals, just want to sit back and relax…

Making it easier

All too often we find ourselves, cutting back shrubs, hedges and trees.  They are out of control, too big, growing over the path, argh!

Often this because of two principle mistakes; it’s either the wrong plant for the given location or they are planted too close together.  Using someone with plant knowledge to help guide your garden centre purchases, can make all the difference to your future garden workload and stress levels

Choosing the right plants for the right location is an art, and fortunately we can help you.
